This September, I am taking on Steps in Challenge for Rethink Mental Illness - a cause close to my heart!

It is so important to have access to resources and support.

That's why I am taking part in this event - to help Rethink Mental Illness continue its mission of improving the lives of those affected by severe mental health issues.

Every donation counts towards my goal!

Your contribution will help provide vital services such as support groups, and educational resources for individuals and families affected by mental illness.

Together, we can make a difference.

Freestyle class

Tuesday 30th Sep
Day 29- Did a hours freestyle dance class, yet again it won't let me add it as an activity so adding it here.

Westminster Mile medal

Sunday 28th Sep
Me at the end of running the Westminster mile, steps of which go towards Steps in September

I did the Westminster Mile race

Sunday 28th Sep
I did the Westminster Mile running race yesterday (27th September). The steps of course count to Rethink Mental Illness Steps in September challenge. I didn't even know if I'd make it to the start line due to how ill I've been lately with covid, but I'm testing negative now so not spreading it and I feel a lot better than I was, bit breathless running but hopefully will be back to full fitness soon.

Ballet dance certificate- 16th September

Sunday 28th Sep
Got my Grade 2 Ballet certificate. Put this as a caption before but I'm gonna repeat it. Not only do the steps from dancing count towards Steps in September but dance has been extremely important in improving my own mental health (as this challenge is for Rethinking Mental Illness). Its given me a purpose back, something to work to and focus on, get out the house and make friends. So thats a bit of a mental health tip from me, if you love or want to try something, go and find a class or a group that do the thing you love (could be a book club or a minatures painting, a running group anything).

Getting our Freestyle Trio Bronze - 15th September

Sunday 28th Sep
Got our Freestyle Trio Bronze. Not only do the steps from dancing count towards Steps in September but dance has been extremely important in improving my own mental health (as this challenge is for Rethinking Mental Illness). Its given me a purpose back, something to work to and focus on, get out the house and make friends. Getting my Freestyle Bronze certificate- Monday 15th September

Sunday 28th Sep
Yet again dance steps going towards the challenge for Rethink Mental Illness. I recieved my Bronze Freestyle certificate and wood plaque while doing this challenge.

Demelza Fundraising Day - Sunday 14th September

Sunday 28th Sep
Freestyle dance performance at Demelza Hospice in Sittingbourne performing at their Family Fun fundraiser day. I'm including these things as the steps from them are in part going towards the challenge for Rethink Mental Illness.

The Next Step dance Workshop- Friday 12th September

Sunday 28th Sep
Thought I'd include photos of some of the things I've mentioned as I realised that's an option on here. This is from The Next Step Pineapple Dance Studios in London 2 hour dance workshop.

Been unwell

Sunday 28th Sep
I've been unwell since Saturday 20th September with Covid I've only just got over it. I'm testing negative now, but still tired out from being unwell, bit of phlegm on my chest and a loss of smell and taste.

Additionally I have a bit of a knotted back and right hip so I'm trying my best but apologies if the step count is down during this later end of the challenge.

The page won't let me add dancing or stretching.

Sunday 28th Sep
I stretch most days and do a lot of dance classes but 1. It doesn't have either of these things as an option 2. My fitness tracker shows all day steps so thats every activity in a day rolled together which is why some days the milage seems low but the step count and time is high. I'll do another update with the days listed I danced. I won't list stretching as that's most days.

I have updated my steps on here

Sunday 28th Sep
I have updated the last several weeks of Steps on here.

Started Steps for September earlier

Monday 1st Sep
Started my Steps in September challenge for Rethink Mental Illness charity today, did about 5,000 steps today. I'll be doing this (walking) throughout all of September.

Here is the website if anybody would like to donate and thank you to anyone who does so.

Thank you so much to my Dad and Harry for donating so far.

Updated my step aim to 30,000

Wednesday 13th Aug
Updated it to 30,000, which is around 15 miles, I was a bit stupid setting it so low before giving I do between 12- 15 miles a week often more so I've set it at 15 miles, a weeks worth of walking for me, probably do over 40 miles across the month in the end but I've set it at a weeks worth of walking so then theres no pressure.

MY AIM IS £25

Sunday 3rd Aug
My fundraising aim is £25 but it won't let me edit the box, its minimum is any amount but any number below 100 it won't save for some reason. Pretend £75 says £25.

Intro post

Sunday 3rd Aug
Hi all, I'm fundraising for Rethink For Mental Illness, walking from 1st- 30th September. So I set the target at 15,000 steps, about 6-7 miles but I should reach that in less than a week. But when I did the Move For Mind challenge I walked 66 miles in a month and did 50 hours of exercise.....the requirement was 17 hours and I fully burnt myself out pushing myself to my absolute limit, it left me feeling unwell, so I put a target I could reach in a couple of days to take the pressure off.
Same with the fundraising, setting the target low because with the Mind challenge it was pressurising to try & raise £150 (target set by that charity), as well as the challenge itself I was having to post every single day for a month begging for donations and I only raised £90 and didn't even get the medal. So that's why I'm setting the fundraising target quite low, to make it more achievable and take the pressure off, definitely prefer this challenge.

I'll probably post step count updates once a week on my Instagram. Thank you so much for reading and any donations,

Natasha 😁
