Help me to raise money and awareness for Rethink Mental Illness

I am really bad at posting on social media and get anxious doing it so here goes nothing..
This month I completed my 4th Ultra Marathon in 5 hours and 55 minutes 🏃. A 30 mile race with 5000 feet of elevation throughout. I'm shattered, achy but have the buzz that always follows doing something physically challenging.
The last 12 months have been really transformative and it hasn't been easy. June 16th marked one year sober for me and it was a huge achievement. I have struggled with addiction throughout my 20s which I believe was partly to mask underline mental health issues, be it anxiety or depression.
In June 2023 I said enough is enough and a massive part of this new chapter in my life has been getting into running. Fitness keeps me grounded day to day and greatly improves my well-being and mood (with no comedown after). In many ways it has saved me.
Since June, I've signed up to the do Superhalfs Marathon series, which is 6 half marathons in 6 countries. This was largely because I associated travelling with drinking, and I wanted to continue travelling but break that association. So far I have completed:
- The Cardiff Half Marathon (where I live)
- The Valencia Half Marathon
- The Lisbon Half Marathon
I have the Copenhagen Half Marathon to complete in September, and the Prague and Berlin Half Marathon in April 2025.
In addition to this, I have been taking part in the Pegasus Ultra Running SLAM series, which is 6 Ultra Marathons over 6 months (the 4th one being today). These include:
- The Canum (April 6th 40 miler)
- The Howum (May 4th 30 Miler)
- The Vogum (June 1st 40 Miler)
- The Pigum (July 6th 30 Miler)
Still to come is the Eddum, a 50 Miler on August 3rd. And the Ridum, a 30 Miler on September 7th.
I have decided I want to give something back. I am doing all these events and realised it could be a great way to help others. I looked into a number of charities I could run for and settled on the one most personal to me. That is Rethink Mental Illness , a fantastic charity that aims to improve the lives of anyone affected by mental illness.
I will be proudly running the London Marathon for them in 2025 and aim to raise £2000. I understand that times are really hard at the moment so there is no pressure to contribute whatsoever, but if you would like to donate, however small, it would truly mean the world to me. Any donation would be massively appreciated. 🙏
