I'm fundraising for Rethink Mental Illness!

This September, I am taking on Steps in Challenge for Rethink Mental Illness - a cause close to my heart!

It is so important to have access to resources and support.

That's why I am taking part in this event - to help Rethink Mental Illness continue its mission of improving the lives of those affected by mental illness.

Every donation counts towards my goal!

Your contribution will help provide vital services such as support groups, and educational resources for individuals and families affected by mental illness.

Together, we can make a difference.

Double rainbow (one inverted)

Wednesday 3rd Sep
Went out for a walk and got caught in a bad rain shower. Saw this bright rainbow with another above but the colours were inverted. Not sure how it works but looked beautiful.

I still feel a bit behind so I went out for quite a long walk today. I had to wear my raincoat which was unfortunate as it’s still quite warm. I could have done with it being waterproof inside too!

Still, 9000 more steps added.

Big walk today

Monday 25th Aug
As it was the bank holiday and I got an extra day off, I decided to go on a long walk. It wasn’t quite as long as I thought as the route was partially blocked but I still did over 8km. And I saw lots of animals.

I’m still worried about making it but today was a good few steps nearer.

What have I done?

Saturday 23rd Aug
10,000 steps a day. That’s how I worked out my goal for September. I already feel it’s going to be hard and I worry I’m not going to make it.

I thought 10,000 steps was meant to be easy and yet I already feel I’m behind.

I’ve just put a big walk in so hopefully I can do a few more and get a head start on the challenge.

Why we need to talk more about mental illness

Saturday 16th Aug
I’ve suffered with anxiety and depression on and off throughout my life. At times, this has been crippling. It’s stopped me being able to do things, including eat or drink.

Being mentally unwell is no different than being physically unwell. Just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean it isn’t there. If we’re all more open with each other then hopefully we’ll reduce the stigma.
