Helping the World Rethink Mental Illness Through Running!
Twelve year old me hiding under my bed reading Stephen King books because I was being bullied at school, too scared to say anything.
Twenty year old me being terrified and feeling worthless after graduating university without a job and feeling this intense sense of worthlessness until I was working.
Thirty-three year old me questioning myself as a Father, and feeling like I am the worst Daddy in the world at times.
Mental illness is something that has left a mark in my life, my family's life and continues to be a part of me. Over the years I've come to terms with this, have learned to live with it and even appreciate it. In essence, I have reworked the way I think about mental illnesses.
Over the years, running and physical exercise has been the best type of therapy and a huge help for me. I’m taking on the Valencia Marathon 2025 to raise funds for Rethink Mental Illness, a charity that works tirelessly to support people affected by mental health challenges.
Mental health impacts us all, and Rethink provides vital services, campaigns for better care, and helps reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness.
I’m running to help make a difference—and I’d love your support!
Every donation, big or small, will help Rethink continue their life-changing work. If I can help even one person through this marathon running journey, through sharing my story, then it'll be absolutely worth it.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story, a massive thank you for any donations made and for any support given before, during and after my third marathon running journey.
