I'm fundraising for Rethink Mental Illness!
Steve Salmon, with other Wednesday Group members, are fundraising to support better mental health in our community.
They are raising money for Rethink Merton and Sutton Group. Through a Sponsored Silence.
On the afternoon of Wednesday 22nd April 2026, some Wednesday Group members meet in Wimbledon Public Library. The undertaking is for all to stay silent for 3 hours. Any unavoidable sound, like any coughing or sneezing, are allowed. All successful participants get a certificate from Steve Salmon, the organiser of event, as proof of success.
Steve says his idea of a Silence is not particular, by him, to Wednesday Group members. He says he would run a Silence for any kind of group of people. Any Wednesday Group volunteer workers are also welcome to take part.
Funds raised go towards Rethink Merton and Sutton subsidies for future Wednesday Group day trips, and towards food and drink supplies for future Wednesday Group Meetings.
You can Gift Aid any online or offline sponsoring, if you are eligible to Gift Aid.
Donating via this page is donating to the Silence event. It isn't donating to last July's Sponsored Walk, nor is it donating to the national charity, Rethink Mental Illness.
The photo is from last July's Wednesday Group Sponsored Thames Path Walk. The Walk raised £900.68 for Rethink.
We hope you will like to sponsor the Silence event.
