Rethink Mental Illness does incredible work in providing support, information, and advocacy for people living with mental illness.

By fundraising for them, I'm helping to ensure that vital services are available to those who need them most.

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by mental illness.

We meet the first Saturday of every month at Belper Library from 12noon until closing at 2pm.

It’s World Mental Health Day. Time to celebrate and be Kind.

Friday 10th Oct
Let’s be proud of how far we’ve come. Today more people are living with a severe mental illness and doing amazing things.
Many are struggling too and let’s not forget the vital work still
needed. Be proud of Rethink Mental Illness and be proud of all
the support you give. Everything you do is appreciated. Thanks
for being kind and supporting Rethink.

Now is Now and today is the best day of your life. You might not think so given all that’s going on but just think what choices and  privileges we all have? Why is there hate?
Why are some people hurling abuse at those they don’t know,
don’t talk to and generally ignore. Sound familiar. It’s a story
many o& us are familiar with. We’ve been there. Neighbours
hurling abuse at us. Why do people hate so easily when
kindness is always the best way to treat anyone. Those with
nothing deserve better from all of us. It is shameful so many
haters are out there who were born kind. We are not born racist. We are kind, curious and caring people so why is there
so much hate? What has happened? How and why did good
people forget their manners and respect  for poor and vulnerable folk with nothing but a few meagre possessions.
Is this who we are? I believe we are all kind people and want to
help those in need and not abuse them. Than’ you.

You might have noticed BROS appears to have gone into
Hibernation? Have we broken through to the other side?
I think, technically we have entered a state of limbo, maybe?
We are here but not here. We exist but not on a map or in
an identifiable way. So don’t despair BROS hasn’t left the building. We are still here and still meeting in September.
Our usual place in Belper Library, 12 noon until 2pm. On
Saturday 6th September….. that’s 6/9/25…. Mark your
calendars and all Mark’s are welcome to join us as are
you all…. I think there are still 30 chairs?   Maybe they need
to be identified and tracked down again but they are there,
somewhere and we will find them…. Help BROS to reappear
on the Rethink map and join us in September for Zim Dance
maybe or a chat, a laugh and some play with silly hats or
a Jenga like tower? That’s BROS in Belper Library 6/9/25
12 noon until 2pm.   We’ve missed you…. Please come back.

Ok. The future is out there and we can’t ignore AI. I do believe it’s a real benefit in Mental Health. Let’s face it, we need all the help we can get right now and AI has arrived. It won’t go back in the box now so we need to try it and the new things it can offer, maybe? And, have a little fun raising more money for Rethink, hopefully?

Thanks to Liggy Webb we can again do Library Exhibitions in Belper and hopefully Ripley this year. Her books are amazing and April is Stress Awareness Month. There’s never been a better time to catch up with Liggy Webb and read some of her amazing little books. Her kindness helping us to launch BROS Belper Rethink on Saturday’s has been amazing. Thank you Liggy.

With 21 brain supporting nutrients. Don’t try eating five a day though. Mr England is a Brilly guy and very Kind too. I like the Brilly bars a lot and they kept me going all day. Great fun at Naidex. We need more events like this.
