Running for Rethink Mental Illness
In September 2026, I will be standing on the start line of the iconic Berlin Marathon—not only to complete 42.2 kilometres, but to raise £1,500 for Rethink Mental Illness.
Running has changed my life in ways I never expected. What began as a physical challenge became something much deeper. It gave me structure when life felt uncertain, a sense of purpose when I felt lost, and a place to process emotions that I did not always know how to express.
I have experienced difficult periods in my own life where simply moving forward felt overwhelming. During those moments, running became more than training. It became an escape, a form of therapy, and a reminder that even when progress feels slow, every step still matters.
But I also know that running alone is not the answer. Not everyone has access to the support, guidance, or safe spaces they need when they are struggling. Mental illness can affect anyone, yet far too many people still face it silently, without the resources, understanding, or care they deserve.
That is why I am taking on the Berlin Marathon for Rethink Mental Illness.
Rethink Mental Illness works to improve the lives of people severely affected by mental illness, as well as the families and loved ones supporting them. Donations help provide vital services, including support groups, practical guidance, educational resources, and a community for people who may otherwise feel completely alone.
My goal is to raise £1,500. Every donation—regardless of the amount—will help make support more accessible to someone who needs it.
For me, this marathon represents resilience. It represents choosing to keep moving forward, even when life becomes difficult. Most importantly, it represents the belief that nobody should have to face their darkest moments alone.
Together, we can help create a world where asking for help is seen as strength, where support is available when it is needed, and where people living with mental illness are treated with dignity, understanding, and hope.
Thank you for supporting me, for supporting this cause, and for being part of every step of this journey.
