On Sunday 11 May, I'm running the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon and set up this page to make a difference to Rethink Mental Illness
Over the years I've been running. I have come to realise, it's not just the physical activity of tying up my laces and going for a run that I enjoy (most of the time). But how running (no matter how fast or slow and at whatever distance) has quite literally become an essential part of my life – helping me to cope with the stress and anxiety of everyday life and remain on top of my own wellbeing.
This is why I've chosen to dedicate my upcoming Marathon, to make a difference to the thousands of people affected by mental illness.
Rethink Mental Illness does incredible work in providing support, information, and advocacy for people living with mental illness.
By fundraising for them, I'm helping to ensure that vital services are available to those who need them most.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by mental illness.
