I'm fundraising for Rethink Mental Illness!
Hi Everyone,
On the 7h of September, I’ll be running in the Great North Run to raise funds for Rethink Mental Illness, an organisation which helps provide vital services such as support groups, and educational resources for individuals and families affected by mental illness.
Like last year, I’ll be running in memory of a truly wonderful young man named Laurie [he's pictured above], who took his own life March 2024. Laurie was an incredibly special person who was loved by so many people and is missed tremendously.

Phew - that was tough!
Tuesday 9th Sep I'm writing 2 days after the run and my legs still don't want to go up and down stairs! It was a real challenge this year thanks to an injured knee [and not being very fit!]. But I managed to get round without stopping. At the end I said to myself that's the last time - it's just too hard. By the time I reached home I'd decided to do it all again next year! I'm so grateful for all your donations. The excitement of getting a new notification that another donation had arrived really made the lead up to the run a joy. And the fact that this very valuable charity has benefited from almost £1000 due to your generosity is amazing. So I'll definitely be contacting you next year! I shall be running in memory of wonderful Laurie again. Thank you all so much, have a wonderful year.Thank you to my Sponsors
