I'm fundraising for Rethink Mental Illness!
Here’s another Great North Run fundraising page. Sorry!
I’m sure you’ve seen a million of these before (including a bunch from me), but I hope you’ll read on anyway.
And if you can spare a few extra quid, that would be incredibly appreciated.
Rethink Mental Illness is a charity that supports people with severe mental health issues, from severe depression to bipolar and schizophrenia.
The charity helps people afflicted with these conditions to recover and to continue to live high quality lives.
In the last few years, I think we’ve seen a massive increase in awareness of mental health as a legitimate disorder. People are starting to relative that these conditions devastate the lives of those afflcited, as well as those around them.
Like many others, I’ve seen the impact of poor mental health first hand.
I’ve witnessed the condition rot away people’s lives, from pushing them out of study or work, to forcing them into mental health institutions.
And in one severe case, forcing a friend to take their own life.
The goal of Rethink Mental Illness is to prevent these situations - to stop people’s worlds from crumbling and, potentially, saving their lives.
To prove my own commitment (and hopefully encourage you to donate), if I hit my fundraising goal (£750), I will double total amount raised from my own pocket.
Of course, no problem if you can’t donate.
Thanks so much for reading, and extra thanks in advance to those who have the funds to spare.
Howay Adam!
