🏃‍♂️ I’m Running the 2026 Dublin Marathon for Rethink Mental Illness

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. In October 2026, I’ll be taking on the Dublin Marathon in support of Rethink Mental Illness, an organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by mental health challenges.

Mental health struggles are far more common than most people realise, and the support Rethink provides—through advocacy, services, and community programmes—makes a real difference. I’m proud to run on their behalf.

🌟 The Challenge

To prepare for race day, I’ve set myself a big training goal: Run/walk approximately 800 miles in the months leading up to the marathon.

It’s a long road—literally—but every mile is fuelled by the purpose behind it.

If you’d like to help me reach my fundraising goal, there are a couple of simple ways to contribute:

Mileage-Based Pledge

Support me based on the miles I complete during training:

  • $0.05 per mile → roughly $40 total

  • $0.10 per mile → roughly $80 total

Or choose any amount per mile that feels right for you.

Flat Donation

Prefer to keep it simple? A one‑time donation of any size is deeply appreciated and goes directly toward Rethink’s vital work.

Dublin Marathon - October 2026....and *NOT* an April Fool's Day Joke!

4/1/2026 Update

From February 2011 - January 2013, I had the opportunity of a lifetime (for an American) - to live and work in Ireland!  Over the past few years, it seems as though awareness of mental health has skyrocketed.  Since summer 2023, I've completed 2 marathons - and one of the side benefits of that challenge and the preparation that goes into running a marathon is that the exercise makes you feel fantastic!

This coming October, I've signed up to run the 2026 Dublin Marathon, raising money for Rethink Mental Illness (rethink.org)!  This is an opportunity to do something beneficial for my own health that will also serve to help others in need!

Today, I'm launching my 2026 fundraising campaign and asking for your support.  Any amount (either flat donation amount or a per training mile pledge) is very much appreciated and goes to support a very important cause.  More on the charity and on my training journey will come in what I hope to be weekly blog posts!  Thank you in advance for your support!
